The exhibition Metabolat – Artistic Scientific Research on Marine Transformation Processes opened last Friday at the Koeppenhaus with numerous guests in attendance. You can find impressions of the exhibition in the photos below. However, some of the artworks will change over the course of the exhibition period. The exhibition focuses on processes of disappearance and appearance – processes that play a role when, for example, waters warm up and certain organisms are unable to adapt to the new conditions, or when other species now repopulate habitats that were previously inhospitable to them.
A visit to the Koeppenhaus gallery to see the changes in the artworks can be perfectly combined with the next event, which is just around the corner. We cordially invite you to the lecture performance ‘unsweet candy – Molecular cuisine with algae sugars’ on 18 July 2025 at 7 pm! Susanne Gabler, Marie-Katherin Zühlke and I are very much looking forward to presenting another joint artistic and scientific work. The featured image, in which the three of us presented the lecture performance at the Art & Science Symposium in May, offers a preview of what is to come. The venue is once again the event hall on the upper floor of the Koeppenhaus Greifswald. The exhibition can be visited in advance (2–7 pm).
Exhibition dates: 14 July to 22 August 2025
Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday, 2 pm to 6 pm
