The Long Evening of the Galleries will take place in Greifswald for the third time on 12 June 2026. From 5 pm, twelve different exhibition venues in Greifswald will invite visitors to enjoy art and engage in conversation in a relaxed atmosphere. The CUBIC art space on Karl-Marx-Platz is also part of the programme. Members of the association art-cube – Raum für zeitgenössische Kunst e.V. will be on site to present the current art installation by Osnabrück-based artist Merle Lembeck. The performance “SPIELRAUM” is planned as the highlight of the evening at CUBIC, starting at 6.30 pm!

The handling with boundaries, that divide our world into a ‘before’ and an ‘after’, an ‘inside’ and an ‘outside’, is the theme of the performance. How flexible are these boundaries? How much space do I have within them? In what ways can I actively shape them? Leeways are made visible and explored through dance – they offer the possibility to expand or to withdraw. The process of exploration and experimentation, of lingering and confrontation, is translated into movement. Questions arise regarding the permeability and flexibility of boundaries.

The evening’s organisers are also offering a guided tour of several galleries. It starts at 5 pm at the Spielhalle Kunst at Mühlenstraße 28. You can download the event flyer here.
