newspectives: art & science in 2026

After last year’s successful exhibition project ‘Metabolat – Artistic Scientific Research on Marine Transformation Processes’ by microbiologist Dr Marie-Katherin Zühlke, artist Susanne Gabler and myself, I am now delighted to hold the documentation of our work in my hands. Here we have summarised in words and pictures which interfaces proved to be particularly interesting and workable for us and which presentation formats we were able to realise. The three of us are very happy about the enriching learning and development process during the project and the great exchange with the audience and other project participants.

We are currently starting preparations for a new exhibition project entitled ‘newspectives’. We have been invited to the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald to present further artistic-scientific works. This time, the exhibition and accompanying programme of events are aimed primarily at an audience with an interest in science. One of our goals is to make the formats we have developed and their content accessible to more people. The research on marine topics at the Universität Greifswald is excellent and is of national and supraregional importance. For example, there are collaborations with the Station biologique de Roscoff in France and with the Universität Bremen in Schleswig-Holstein. Contemporary artistic formats are an effective means of increasing the visibility and significance of current scientific studies.

Our exhibition ‘newspectives’ will open at the Krupp Kolleg on 16 April 2026! Dates for further programme items and further information will be published shortly. If you can’t wait that long, you are welcome to take a look at our documentation. It’s hot off the press and lying on the table in my studio (see photo)! Feel free to send me a message if you’re interested!
