We cordially invite you to the closing event of the exhibition ‘Metabolat – Artistic Scientific Research on Marine Transformation Processes’, which will begin with a second lecture performance on Friday, 22 August 2025, at 7 pm at the Koeppenhaus Greifswald!
Our guest will be biochemist Dr. Christina C. Roggatz from Bremen, who will join Dr. Marie-Katherin Zühlke (microbiologist at the University of Greifswald), Susanne Gabler (artist from Wismar) and me in presenting a lecture performance on the topic of ‘Constant Change – The Changing Molecular Language of the Ocean’. We are very much looking forward to another experimental collaboration as part of the exhibition project.
The exhibition will also be open for viewing one last time. The altering artworks can now be contemplated in their final state. The process of change in the works illustrates becoming and passing away and reminds us that during long-term changes that affect our living environment, new life forms or habitats emerge on the one hand, while others simply disappear on the other. Humans can neither accurately predict nor control the extent and consequences of these processes.
My newly created picture gallery already contains several exhibition views of my paintings and my painting installation. The photo above shows a vista of the canvas of the installation ‘Ablagerungen III’, which is a snapshot. The infusion pumps will continue to run until the closing event, meaning that the painting process will also continue.
The cooperation was supported by the mentoringKUNST network in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The exhibition is sponsored by the Bürgerfonds Kultur Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Fonds für Vorpommern und das östliche Mecklenburg, and the Koeppenhaus.
